Why it matters
Building here is not like building anywhere else.
The Twin Ports sit at the head of the largest freshwater lake in the world, which does strange things to weather over remarkably short distances. A house on the Duluth lakeshore and a house in Hermantown, fifteen minutes apart, see different snow totals, different wind exposure and a different number of freeze-thaw cycles in a season.
That is why these pages are not the same page with the city name swapped out. What fails first on a Superior bungalow is not what fails first on an Esko walkout, and the right specification follows from the actual conditions on the lot.
